Stockholm, Sweden

We spent a the day exploring just a small portion of Stockholm. To start off, it is just a beautiful city with impressive architecture.

We started out going to Junibacken which is a museum about all of Astrid Lindgren characters and stories. It was fun. My favorite part was the story train (we were not allowed to take pictures) which took you through scenes from her books and really made you a part of the stories. As you disembark the story train you come upon a scene of Pippi Longstockings being acted out. The children loved it!

We then grabbed an ice cream and heading to Skansen which is a large open air museum and zoo with many Scandinavian animals. It is essentially a jump back in time before the industrial era and what towns were like at that time.

And of course we found a playground.

Gamla stan was our next stop which is the old Stockholm. The buzz was all about Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden and her marriage to Daniel Westing (a commoner) which took place on the 19 June in Stockholm. There were souvenirs everywhere.

Here is dear Ani.
